RENT

Finally watched Rent last Thursday, copy courtesy of Von(Thanks!).

The opening song is actually memorable because it was played during our college graduation.
525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear.
525,600 minutes - how do you measure,
measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In
inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.

In 525,600 minutes - how do you
measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How about love?
Measure in love.
Seasons of
love.

I love musicals, and I love seeing the characters doing their song and dance. Though at the end of the movie, I was thinking what can I learn from the movie?. The movie revolves around a neighborhood of AIDS/HIV people with love story between lesbians and gays. I just don't understand how in the midst of AIDS can you still long for sex? (in the case of Mimi and Roger) Is there no resolution after having contacted the sexually transmitted disease? I'm not saying they don't have the right to be happy during whatever time they have left, but libido running wild is something else, even though they do it with people who have the disease too. The only thing I learned is how everyone needs friends.

Italianni's Buffet Night

Yesterday, after reading about the Italianni's Buffet at Megamall a few weeks ago, Mike and I finally tried it! Super busog!

They have a nice salad bar, I made my salad with lots of grapes and olives and ceasar dressing.. yum yum! For pasta, I tried their create your own pasta. I made mine with spaghetti, pesto, garlic, mushroom, bell pepper, lots of bacon topped with parmesan cheese. Loved it! Nakakabusog nga lang sya so I cannot have second serving. I also tried their lasagna, pero Mike didn't like it, ako OK lang, parang so-so lang ang lasa nya. For their meats, wala ring outstanding, most of them kasi mejo bland lang yung taste, probably kasi it's meant to be eaten with pasta which is already flavorful. But Mike liked the Grilled Pepper Crusted Fish Fillet, I, being a parmesan cheese lover, was looking for the Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet but there was none. The Pizza is already cold, so I only had a slice and no more.

We loved their desserts, specially their brownies. I enjoyed the fruits too, but sad to say, they were not the really sweet watermelon and melons. I didn't try the pineapple slices cause it's light yellow, which often indicates it's not fully ripe therefore a little sour. Their tiramisu is also good, but not superb. Mejo matigas yung strawberry cheesecake. It's a great thing that they're in small serving, so I don't have to finish a big serving of something I don't like. Mike also enjoyed the cream puffs and the fondue. Over-all the experience is so-so lang. Pero OK rin sya kasi I was able to taste more of what Italianni's offers.
