Fairy Tales
Lately I've often heard a guy friend say na madaling mape-persuade ang isang girl habang nandun pa sya sa fairy-tale stage. But how this fairy-tale-stage thing be defined?? hmmm... eto ang ilang cases ng fairy tale thinking na naiisip ko...
- The Against All Odds :: Believing that things would work well for you even at the expense of others. Example... to believe that a man/woman who has commitments(married na or may BF/GF) would leave his reponsibilities for you. Consequence... getting HURT (kapag napatunayan mong di nya kayang ipagpalit ang mga bagay na ito for you) , LOW SELF ESTEEM (pakiramdam that you lack something, as in kulang kang pang-tapat) , BROKEN RELATIONSHIP (with friends and specially sa family mo na kumokonrta ilusyon mo), or GUILT (kapag tinalikuran na nya ang responsibilidad nya para sayo...), and most specially kung magawa nyang iwanan ang iba for you kaya din nyang iwanan ka para sa iba.
- The Price Charming/Knight in Shinning Armor :: Believing that there'll be someone out there ... gwapo, makisig, gentleman, mabait (all that you could ask for), na fate will bring you to each other's arms one day. Consequence... na-mi-miss out mo yung guy na nasaharap mo ngayon. Pwedeng mangyari na napalampas mo na pala yung someone right just because may kulang sa kanya based on your ideal prince charming.
- The One and Only :: Kapag naniwala ka na yung person na kasama mo ngayon ay ang "Sya na nga". Well problem lang 'to kapag umaabot ka na sa pagiging martyr. Yung tipong gusto ka nang batukan ng mga taong concern sayo para lang mamulat ang isip mo dahil masyado ka nang naaargabyado at nagtitiis ka pa rin kasi nga sabi mo (sabi mo lang yun) na "Sya na nga". Consequence... nagse-settle ka for something less and end up unhappy.
- The Hapily Ever After :: *ehem* eto naman yung ok kayo at lahat ng tao sa paligid nyo (maging kayo) ay naliliwalang bagay kayo para sa isa't-isa at dahil kumbinsido ka dito ine-expect mo na laging smooth sailing ang daloy ng relasyon ninyo. Maiinis ka at mafu-frustrate anytime na nawala sa ideals mo ang mga nangyayari. Consequence... nami-miss-out mo yung kagandahan ng relasyon na meron ka, feeling of unsatisfaction sa blessing na meron ka. Mahihirapan ang partner mo na ma-please ka at pati sya, di na ma-aapreciate ang relasyon ninyo.
Ayan, hmm alin kaya ako dito? hehe parang dun sa huli natamaan ako ah? Well everyone of us naman siguro nakapagwish na magkaroon ng love story na pang fairy-tale. I believe walang masama dun dahil fairy-tales do happen in real life naman eh, we just have to remind ourselves that we are on the real world, that we should not expect too much and appreciate what we have.
Ako?, I'll still believe in fairy tales ^_^ ... sheesh!
I assure you my life is no fairy tale... but maybe starting today I'll wake up reminding myself that my life is still a story, continuously written and though it's not a fairy tale for kids to tell hope it could be a story worth being told and retold.
